A new realm for The Auto Collision Industry

A New Realm For The Auto Collision Industry

The Canadian Auto Collision Industry is based on a myth! Where it expects to create a bright and rewarding future based on historic thwarted values. This myth lives inside reality; we give it all the meaning in the world, generating revenue and opportunity for those that can function in an environment that lacks integrity.

STOP… does this sound harsh to you?

Well it should, because this is the reality of why the Canadian Auto Collision Industry is not attracting apprentices, retaining techs, building consumer confidence or even establishing unification throughout its own industry.

I’m here to tell you if we keep heading down this historic path. Actually, I see the inevitable outcome of an industry that keeps tackling the same issues year-in and year-out without substantial resolve.

First let me introduce my self, the purpose of this web site and what I intend to achieve by addressing the issues affecting the Canadian auto collision industry.

My name is Donald Bailey before now, I would have been skeptical, extremely paranoid to say or write any thing about the state of the Canadian Auto Collision Industry.

Why, you may be asking?

Well the answer to that question is, for the twenty five years I’ve been working in the auto collision industry as a tech  my opinion on human resources requirements in the industry has never been taken into account.

So, with all the new technology out in the world to day, I decide it would be a good idea to launch a web site called Tektalk.net that would provide a communication avenue that techs could talk, vent, express their views and concerns to other techs and the industry. Like, a forum that’s dedicated for techs by techs.

As I was doing my research and contemplating why is it that, this multibillion-dollar industry that has endless supply of product (vehicles) can’t address the simple issue of retaining and attracting techs?. Its not like the auto collision industry doesn’t have opportunity and appeal – it does.

The fact of the matter is - the auto collision industry has so much potential that it’s just not living up too. The participants that make-up the industry’s infrastructure such as:  Insurants – Repairers – Techs and Suppliers (5) realize this fact, draw on a conclusion or create their own internal mission to address the issues.

Hens, the myth of the auto collision industry infrastructure.

Continuing with my industry research, communicating with representatives and engaged in Land Mark education sessions (Landmarkeducation.com) an education on human behavior, lead we to see out side this myth that a whole industry has created as a reality...including me.

On October 11, 2007 I visualized a radical and earth-shattering realm that would naturally align the major issues (5) affecting the Canadian auto collision industry.

1 Attracting and retaining techs

2 Tech training and certification

3 Consumer confidence

4 Decrease in fraudulent activity

5 Support in repairer’s profitability

Feeling excited and optimistic of having this revelation and the insight of redesigning an auto collision industry that is in dyer need of creative direction. Now, don’t get me wrong, I know there are some unique corporate missions operating successfully in the collision arena dealing with a particular industry need. That’s great, however what is missing is a well-defined internal infrastructure process, providing all industry participants unification, stability and long-term growth opportunity.

 Change of focus:

Tektalk.net will now be dedicated in bringing forth an alternative Canadian auto collision direction that’s built on integrity and fosters participant unification.

There is an old saying “if you want to know your future, you must create it.”

My first priority will be to establish a manual called,

DONTEK PROPOSAL MANUAL (DPM)

Contained in the DTM will be documentation  of all creative content directed towards building a functional and cohesive Canadian auto collision industry internal infrastructure.

Corporations, Associations or Individuals interested in having the Canadian auto collision industry live up to its potential and beyond its boundaries. Then this is the perfect opportunity for you to support the undertaking of the DONTEK PROPOSAL MANUAL (DPM) and take action in the following ways:

A)                Sponsorship Funding – Become the official backer of DPM and its representation to the Canadian Auto Collision industry.

B)                 Donation - Send a small monetary ($20, $50 or $1OO) gift that reflexes your support to address the issues affecting the auto collision industry.

Cheque or money order donations should be made out to “Tektalk.net” and any cash should be placed in  a white folded paper, then place in an envelope and mailed out to:

 6-2400 Dundas St West
Suite 622
Mississauga, Ontario
L5K 2R8

C)                Dialog and feedback on creative content -  Submitting you views, comments and concerns can go a long way.

These actions will deem critical in the funding foundation and knowledge base of establishing DPM vision.

The answer to the issues affecting the Canadian auto collision industry will remain as a nondisclosure document section in DPM. I will not divulge the key component that allows DPM realistic compliance, until I’m able to put together a proactive advocacy panel.

Participants taking action in supporting DPM will receive confidential updates and meeting locations directly.

The creative path that I’m about to head down will conjure up all kinds of emotions for me and others, some positive and some Oh, lets just say less optimistic.

 “Change remains a challenge;”
